In a historic moment for Indian women’s cricket, the India A Women’s team secured a resounding 31-run victory over Bangladesh in the final of the Women’s Emerging Asia Cup 2023. India A Sets the Target
Having won the toss, Bangladesh elected to field first, granting India A the opportunity to set the target. With a competitive display, the Indian team amassed 127 runs, losing seven wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Shweta Sehrawat scored 13 runs, and Uma Chetry added 20 runs to the team’s total before getting out to Nahida Akter and Rabeya Khan, respectively.

Sultana Khatun also left a mark by claiming the dismissals of Vrinda and Gongadi Trisha. Sanjida Akter Meghla and Rabeya Khan chipped in with wickets, restricting India A’s scoring rate.
Stellar Bowling and Fielding by India “A”
India A showcased exceptional bowling and fielding prowess to stifle the Bangladeshi batting lineup while defending their total. The Indian bowlers applied consistent pressure, preventing their opponents from settling and forging partnerships. Bangladesh A was eventually bundled out for 96 runs in 19.2 overs. Shreyanka Patil, who represents RCB in the WPL, was the top performer in the bowling department, securing an impressive four-wicket haul.
